Case Notes
This woman had a TUBA (transumbilical breast augmentation, which Dr. DeLuca-Pytell did not do and does not recommend) which was complicated by a grade IV capsular contracture. This caused pain and obvious deformity. Because her implants were saline, she was able to have them deflated before surgery to help her decide if she wanted implants again or just a breast lift. You can see in these photographs how her breasts look before, immediately after, and a month after deflation. It is common for the breasts to expand after deflation (like a sponge that has been compressed then let go). This helped her decide that she had enough breast tissue. You can see her one year after capsulectomy and removal of saline implants with a breast lift. She is much more comfortable and very pleased with her outcome.
